Huawei’s portfolio is full of awesome devices but this manufacturer still takes steps to conquer the Western smartphone market. The company’s Ascend line handsets are very popular in China but they deserve more attention. In this context, the OEM is actively working on different handsets from this lineup to prove the world they have worthy devices as well. Besides several high-end Android smartphones, the company is going to launch a Windows Phone 8 running handset too.
The Huawei Ascend W1 is rumored to be announced alongside with the top-end Ascend W2. Both devices will run Windows Phone 8 OS and be real competitors to the Samsung Ativ S, Nokia Lumia 920 and 820, HTC Windows Phone 8X and 8S.

They are expected to be launched before the end of this year. As to the Ascend W1, it will be available in black, blue, pink and white and will cost around 2,000 RMB ($320). Though there are many rumors saying the phone will be uncovered on September 25, Huawei’s Chairman of Devices, Richard Yu said the W1 will probably come between November and December period.
