Chinese Huawei is trying to enter the US market very carefully. Unlike other companies, this one doesn’t blow up the market with different high-end smartphones driving consumers in confusion. As a result, people choose what they are familiar with, and the novelties are left is the shadows. Huawei is doing the contrary — it wants to convince people it can and will make smartphones for the US consumers, if the latter try and like its devices. It will launch the Huawei Prism via T-Mobile. It’ll be an experimental device, and if it succeeds, the manufacturer will consider more powerful phones.
According to leaked documents, the Huawei Prism with T-Mobile branding will be launched via several retailers. Best Buy and Walmart will be the first to launch it. As to timing, the Huawei Prism will be firstly available in Best Buy’s stores on May 6, while Walmart will offer the handset on May 9. The phone will be shipped to T-Mobile’s retail channels on May 23. Thus, before the end of May it will be available almost everywhere where you can notice Magenta carrier’s logo.
As to the phone itself, the Huawei Prism sports a 3.5-inch HVGA touchscreen with a resolution of 320×480 pixels, a 600MHz single-core processor, 2GB of native storage, which can be expanded due to microSD card slot, and runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Unfortunately, the price tag is not mentioned but no one expects it will cost much.
